Lead Platform Engineer

Salary: £49,000 - 89,000 per year

• Proven experience in platform engineering, cloud infrastructure, or senior DevOps roles
• Strong hands-on experience with Azure cloud estates
• Experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code
• Experience operating Kubernetes workloads
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps
• Experience supporting cloud migration and separation projects across Azure and GCP
• Experience with disaster recovery and business continuity practices
• Strong knowledge of cloud security, identity, secrets, and certificates
• Ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues
• Ability to provide technical guidance on Azure architecture and platform engineering

• Own and manage our Azure cloud estate, ensuring security, reliability, and cost efficiency
• Lead the adoption of Terraform and Infrastructure as Code, including bringing existing infrastructure under management
• Operate Kubernetes workloads, including deployments, ingress, scaling, upgrades, troubleshooting, and day-to-day platform operations
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps
• Support cloud migration and separation projects across Azure and GCP
• Design, automate, and test disaster recovery and business continuity solutions
• Improve monitoring, alerting, and observability across the platform
• Manage cloud security, identity, secrets, and certificates
• Provide technical guidance on Azure architecture and platform engineering
• Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues and act as a senior technical escalation point
• Work closely with development and technology teams to improve platform reliability and developer experience

We are partnering with an established and growing data business based in Nottingham to find a talented Senior Platform Engineer to take ownership of our cloud infrastructure and help shape the next stage of our platform. This is a hybrid position with a minimum of 1 day per week in our Nottingham office. The role offers genuine ownership and influence across our Azure and DevOps estate, with the opportunity to shape architecture, tooling, and engineering standards as we continue to grow our B2B API and data platform capabilities.
