Lead Principal Product Manager
Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Compute Product Management is hiring a Lead Principal Product Manager to set direction across a compute portfolio or major investment spanning multiple products and engineering teams.
You will connect changes in processor technology, customer workloads, and economics to decisions about where OCI should invest. This role requires deep processor or compute systems expertise and a record of owning product strategy and outcomes across related products or successive product generations.
What you’ll do
- Set product strategy and investment priorities across a compute portfolio or major initiative built on CPUs, GPUs, or AI accelerators.
- Evaluate technology roadmaps, customer demand, competitive offerings, and economics to determine what OCI should build, fund, defer, or stop.
- Work with senior engineers and silicon partners to assess architectural choices and their implications for workload performance, software support, power, cost, and delivery.
- Write decision papers for senior leadership that frame the problem, compare credible alternatives, and recommend a direction. Make the investment required, expected outcomes, dependencies, and risks explicit.
- Present and defend recommendations in leadership reviews. Resolve competing technical and commercial priorities and turn decisions into actionable product direction.
- Coordinate roadmaps and product choices across engineering and product teams, including sequencing investments and resolving dependencies.
- Guide positioning, pricing, and adoption strategy across the portfolio. Assess results and adjust the strategy as technology, customer needs, and market conditions change.
- Raise the quality of product analysis and decision papers through substantive review and mentoring of other product managers.
Typically 12+ years of relevant industry experience, including 5+ years of product management experience. Demonstrated ownership of product strategy, investment decisions, and business outcomes across multiple related products or successive product generations is required.
- Direct experience developing, evaluating, deploying, or bringing to market CPUs, GPUs, or AI accelerators, with deep expertise in at least one category.
- Technical credibility with senior processor and systems engineers. You can examine architectural assumptions, evaluate performance evidence, and defend recommendations on technical and economic grounds.
- Repeated ownership of product strategy across multiple related products or successive product generations, including major roadmap and investment decisions.
- Evidence that you have translated customer workloads and technology changes into a product strategy, carried it into execution, and evaluated the results.
- Experience making consequential choices about what to fund, prioritize, defer, or stop, including resolving competing priorities across teams.
- Experience authoring and defending investment recommendations with senior technical and business leadership.
- Ability to connect processor and platform choices to portfolio economics, competitive differentiation, and customer adoption.
Preferred experience
- Experience setting strategy for cloud compute products or data center platforms.
- Experience shaping product plans with processor vendors, system suppliers, and major infrastructure customers.
- Experience guiding other product managers through complex technical and business decisions.
Education
A degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or computer science is preferred. Equivalent technical expertise demonstrated through relevant industry experience will also be considered.
Years of experience are a guide. The scale of your decisions, breadth of ownership, and demonstrated results determine fit.
