Lead Product Designer

Summary

Clera is seeking a Lead Product Designer to oversee product design, branding, and team leadership for their AI-powered communication platform. This hands-on role involves working closely with founders and engineering to iterate on features and maintain design systems in a fast-paced, on-site environment.

About the Role

This is a senior, hands-on design leadership role at a fast-growing AI-powered communication platform serving thousands of SME customers across the DACH region and Europe. You'll own product design, branding, and the design team — working directly with founders and engineering to shape the full user experience at high shipping velocity.

What You'll Do

  • Take full ownership of product design, branding, and design team leadership across the company.

  • Spend roughly half your time hands-on: designing product features, running customer interviews, and evolving the brand.

  • Lead design across three distinct product areas in close collaboration with product and engineering.

  • Manage and grow a design team covering website, branding, and product design.

  • Build deep customer understanding through regular conversations with users in trades, healthcare, and professional services.

  • Set and maintain design standards across product, web, and brand.

  • Scale and maintain design systems for consistent execution across multiple product areas.

  • Ship frequently — contribute to daily releases with direct, measurable impact.

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years of end-to-end product design experience with ownership of multiple product areas.

  • Proven senior IC background with design leadership experience or a clear intent to step into team management.

  • Native-level German (essential for the DACH market) and solid English for an international team.

  • Deep hands-on Figma skills, including prototyping and user research/interviews.

  • Experience owning branding and website design alongside core product design.

  • Strong analytics and data-driven mindset — you measure the impact of design decisions and iterate accordingly.

  • Experience building and scaling design systems across multiple product surfaces.

  • AI-first workflow fluency, with practical experience using tools such as Cursor, Claude, or similar to accelerate design and prototyping.

  • Background in B2B software, professional services, or CRM-like environments is a plus.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: €80,000 – €150,000 per year, depending on experience.

  • Visa sponsorship: Not available.

Location

On-site in Vienna, Austria.
