Lead Product Designer

At EA, we believe games are powerful because they bring together multiple ways people engage: play, watch, create, and connect. And increasingly, the biggest entertainment platforms aren’t just places to consume content -they’re places where communities build. Creator-made content is already a proven part of EA’s history - from community creation tools in Battlefield to The Gallery in The Sims 4. We believe new creative technologies and tools will expand how players engage with and contribute to our experiences, supported by thoughtful product design, safety systems, and global reach. Our focus is on enabling more players to participate in creative expression by making creation easier, safer, and more rewarding.

We’re looking for a Lead Product Designer to act as a foundational member of the design team. In this role, you will own outcomes, design practices, and quality standards across several vertical and horizontal teams. Operating with a high degree of autonomy, you will guide problem exploration, achieve cross-organizational alignment, and shape a culture of empowerment and design excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own Quality & Delivery: Own the design outcomes and practice for several vertical or horizontal teams, acting as the standard-bearer for quality and excellence across these groups. Work autonomously to lead solution discovery and delivery that significantly contributes to the team’s strategic targets.

  • Problem Solving & Navigation: Apply problem-solving frameworks and people-centered principles to guide the team in exploring complex problem spaces. Differentiate and navigate tactical trade-offs while ensuring strict alignment with the broader product vision.

  • Data-Driven Experimentation: Design experiments to test hypotheses and validate assumptions. Collaborate closely with cross-functional partners to make data-driven decisions and propose novel, workable solutions that go beyond common industry practice.

  • Effective Communication: Create compelling visual and written documentation with clear, supporting rationale. Explain insights, processes, and standards engagingly to stakeholders, and consistently improve design communication (e.g., specs, desk checks, insights) to increase team efficiency.

  • Cross-Functional Alignment & Autonomy: Give clear direction across teams and self-direct on all but the most ambiguous initiatives. Proactively address blockers; considering technical, regulatory, and operational constraints—to keep initiatives moving forward.

Qualifications

  • 8-12 years of professional experience in product design, UX/UI, or related fields.

  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to lead meetings, set agendas, and persuasively explain design rationales to stakeholders to reach agreement.

  • Deep understanding of human-centered design principles and a demonstrated ability to design experiments, test hypotheses, and drive data-informed decisions.

  • Experience navigating ambiguity and tactical trade-offs in a fast-paced environment, ideally within UGC platforms, creator tools, or AI-driven consumer products.

  • Proven experience independently owning design outcomes and practices for a dedicated vertical team or complex platform features.

Unique Opportunity

  • Be a founding member of the design team.
  • Join the team that will define the future of interactive entertainment; launching incrementally, but driven by a strong, multi-year vision to create new markets and massive online communities.
