Lead Product Designer（UI/UX）

Overview

We are looking for an experienced Product Designer (UI/UX Designer) who leads design work and wants to grow into design management. You will set the design direction for key projects, work closely with product managers, engineers, and customer success, and help manage our team of designers. You will also be involved in defining the team’s direction, tracking design KPIs, and reporting results to senior management.

Fluency in both Japanese and English is a must, along with the ability to explain design decisions and results clearly to non-designers and senior management.

You will be working at a leading cloud-based security provider in Japan, focusing on projects related to our flagship product, HENNGE One, which offers access control, email archiving, and other security and productivity-related functionalities for mid and enterprise companies. Therefore, experience in B2B projects would be advantageous.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead key projects with a strong understanding of HENNGE’s business, shaping the design direction, guiding other designers, and working closely with stakeholders on product direction.
• Support the management of the design team, including goal setting, growth, workload balance and hiring..
• Help define the team’s direction and goals.
• Set standards for our product design quality and team processes.
• Track design KPIs and report results to senior management.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in UI/UX design, with a focus on product design.
• Experience leading design projects from discovery to delivery with multiple teams, connecting design decisions to business goals and explaining them clearly to stakeholders.
• Experience mentoring or leading designers, and improving how a team works.
• Business-level communication skills in both Japanese (N1 or close to it) and English.
• Live, plan to live, or relocate within commuting distance of our Tokyo office.

Nice to have

• Experience in the security-related industry or B2B SaaS.
• Experience tracking metrics or KPIs and presenting results to management.
• Experience using AI in design workflows, or preparing design systems for AI-assisted development.
• Experience representing design externally, such as talks or articles.

Permanent Employee, 3 months probation period

Tokyo Shibuya HQ
* In principle, coming into the office is recommended. (Depending on the department, the ratio of remote/office work can change)
*We are changing the location of our headquarters in 2027/04.

Working Hours

10:00-19:00
* Flex Time (Core Time is 10:00-15:00) with 1hour break

Days Off

Every Saturday and Sunday, national holidays, December 29th - through January 3.

Remuneration

Variable depending on experience and skill. (Please take a look at our Company Introduction Deck's explanation of our Assessment System as well as the Belt System we use.)
Includes Duty Allowance, which compensates for approximately 20 hours of overtime work per month.
Any amount of overtime work compensation that exceeds the Duty Allowance is paid additionally, based on the following formula:
(Basic Wage＋Special Allowance) / Monthly Average Prescribed Work Hours x 1.25 x Overtime Work Hours

Examples of possible remuneration
These are simply examples and we cannot guarantee these values at the time of offer.

　　　6+ years of UI/UX (Product) Design, Business-level English & Japanese (JLPT N1 or equiv.): 8.5M~10.0M JPY

　　　6+ years of UI/UX (Product) Design with Mentoring/Management, Business-level English & Japanese (JLPT N1 or equiv.): 9.0M~11.0M JPY

Bonus

Once a year (December)
* approximately 2months worth of salary is to be expected. (can vary with company/team/individual performance and evaluation)

Promotion/Raises

Yearly assessment, once a year (January)

Other benefits

English allowance: 10,000JPY ~ 130,000JPY / month, paid alongside base salary, if the employee fulfills the requirements

Physical Communication Bonus Bonus: 5,000 JPY / day for coming to the office and interacting with other employees, paid out as bonus according to the number of days. Details will be provided at the offer meeting.
