Lead Python Developer
Summary
Lead a small tech team at a London FinTech start-up, splitting effort 50/50 between architecture/design and people management while hands-on refactoring and extending the core banking platform. Day to day is Python (ideally FastAPI) API development on cloud infrastructure (GCP preferred) with CI/CD, plus mentoring and setting engineering standards.
Salary: £100,000 - 100,000 per year
Requirements
- Skilled Python Developer with team leadership experience
- Strong knowledge of software engineering best practices
- Full SDLC experience
- Team leadership experience, including mentoring and conducting performance reviews
- Knowledge of cloud-based services (GCP preferred, AWS or Azure acceptable)
- Experience building APIs, ideally with FastAPI
- Good understanding of CI/CD, testing, and deployment
- Thorough understanding of Computer Science fundamentals such as OOP, Data Structures, Design Patterns, and Algorithms
- Collaborative and pragmatic with great communication skills
- Degree in a STEM discipline with a 2.1 or above
