In this Lead Python Django Developer role, you will drive the architecture and technical direction of a greenfield, enterprise-grade platform for social data. You’ll work closely with founders, designers, and engineers to shape features and scale the stack, evangelize new technologies, and contribute to a fast-paced, innovative start-up culture. Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and select technologies to implement product features
  • Collaborate with founders, UI/UX designers and technical staff on product development
  • Support recruitment, training, and organization of development staff
  • Evangelise and prototype new technologies; help shape the architecture
  • Participate in agile development and adapt to evolving requirements
Key requirements
  • 3+ years of commercial Python and Django development
  • Strong knowledge of software design patterns and OOP
  • Keen to write clean, well-structured code (PEP8)
  • Fan of best practices & TDD
  • Good knowledge of Docker and cluster orchestration
  • Good knowledge of RabbitMQ/Celery
  • Good knowledge of Postgres (RDBMS) and Elasticsearch (NoSQL)
  • Good understanding of RESTful APIs
  • Good knowledge of Git
  • Exposure to NumPy, SciPy, pandas, IPython and related Python libraries (advantage)
  • Experience with large data sets and data manipulation (advantage)
