We are looking for a Lead Python Developer who can take ownership of backend development, design scalable applications, and guide a team of developers. The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in Python, backend architecture, APIs, databases, and cloud technologies, along with good leadership skills.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a team of Python/backend developers.
- Design and develop scalable, high-performance backend applications using Python.
- Build and maintain REST APIs and microservices.
- Participate in architecture and technical design discussions.
- Review code and ensure coding standards, performance, and security.
- Work closely with Product, QA, DevOps, and other engineering teams.
- Troubleshoot complex production issues and drive root-cause analysis.
- Improve application performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Drive best practices around testing, CI/CD, documentation, and development processes.
Requirements:
- 8+ years of hands-on Python development experience.
- Strong knowledge of Python, OOP, and data structures.
- Experience with Django / Flask / FastAPI.
- Strong experience in REST APIs and Microservices.
- Good knowledge of SQL and databases - PostgreSQL / MySQL.
- Experience with Redis / caching.
- Strong understanding of AWS / Azure / GCP.
- Experience with Docker and CI/CD.
- Good understanding of Git.
- Experience working with Kafka / RabbitMQ is preferred.
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in leading/mentoring developers.
Good to Have:
- Kubernetes
- Terraform
- Elasticsearch
- Celery
- GraphQL
- AWS services such as EC2 S3 Lambda, RDS.
- Experience designing highly scalable systems.
- Exposure to AI/ML or GenAI applications.
Leadership Expectations:
- Should be hands-on, not purely a people manager.
- Ability to make technical decisions and drive architecture.
- Mentor junior and senior developers.
- Conduct code reviews and technical discussions.
- Own modules/features from design, development, deployment, and production support.
