What you bring to SBHG (qualifications):
Education / Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in a social science field plus two (2) years of experience working in a behavioral health field is required.
- Master’s degree in a social science field preferred.
License or Certification:
- Occupational Therapist (OT), Music Therapist, Art Therapist, Dance Therapist or Recreation Therapist required
- Current CPR certification.
- Valid California Driver’s License and current automobile insurance and must maintain a driving record that meets the company driver's eligibility policy.
How you will make a difference (job overview):
The Rehabilitation Therapist is responsible for providing direct and indirect rehabilitation services to participants. These services are provided through individualized and/or group activities for participants.
Division/Program Overview:
- Population Served: Adults (Ages 18–64) with severe mental health challenges that have required placement in a state hospital or other intensive behavioral health setting.
- Facility & Setting: 16-bed inpatient rehabilitation facility.
- Clinical Services: Comprehensive behavioral health and psychiatric services delivered by a multidisciplinary team.
- Skills & Transition: Independent living skills development, self-sufficiency training, and transition planning for community re-entry.
