Lead/Relief Transportation Driver

This position contributes successfully to our operations because you will:

  • Approach work with a Continuous Improvement (CI) mindset, and engaging in Producers Dairy Mission
  • Own and promote a Safety Culture by ensuring a safe work environment and promoting proper safety behavior.
  • Compliance with all federal, state and company driving regulations.
  • Interface with customers in a friendly professional manner delivering superior customer service.
  • On-call position with work week plan updates dependent of the department needs.
  • Assist with training and onboarding of new team members to ensure drivers are ready to perform daily job duties.
  • Train new transportation drivers on driver’s daily job duties, refresher training of drivers, and annual ride along of team members ensuring drivers are up to date on essential driver duties.
  • Document completed driver training and constant communication with Safety Supervision on the needs of the department.
  • Lead will also be asked to cover vacations and be available for changes due to staffing needs.
  • Understand department goals and KPI’s with daily promotion while training.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Position Requirements (Qualifications and Skills):

To be a successful Lead/Relief Transportation Driver you will need:

  • A high school diploma or GED
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure
  • Must have a minimum of 18*months of commercial driving experience
  • Must have valid Class A driver license with no more than 2 points
  • Knowledge, comprehension, and compliance with DOT rules/regulations
  • Demonstrate good judgment and problem-solving skills as well as being an organized record keeper
  • Demonstrated organization and accuracy skills; self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to handle multiple projects/tasks with competing deadlines
  • Demonstrate the ability to solve problems, accept constructive feedback and show flexibility should priorities and/or deadlines change
  • Must have the ability to use a phone application for: mapping, work submissions, tracking, timekeeping ad electronic logs

Preferred:

  • Previous public relations/customer service experience
  • Previous experience with electronic logging and phone applications

Hourly Rate: $30.29 - $33.65
