Lead Safety Engineer

About the Position: The mission of the Corpus Christi Army Depot is to overhaul, repair, modify, retrofit, test and modernize helicopters, engines and components for all services and foreign military customers. Corpus Christi Army Depot (CCAD) is the Army's Center of Industrial and Technical Excellence for Rotary Wing Aviation Maintenance. We provide worldwide on-site maintenance services, aircraft crash analysis, lubricating oil analysis, and chemical, metallurgical and training support.

Distributes team projects and tasks among team members in accordance with workflow, skill level and specialization.

Identifies training needs of team members and trains or arranges for training.

Utilizes engineering skills and risk management practices in quantifying, prioritizing and managing risk, applying the hierarchy of hazard control, and managing equivalent protection.

Utilize proposed designs for inclusion of safety engineering, occupational health Requirements and design codes of various mechanical and safety guards for a wide variety of machines and plant equipment to eliminate occupational hazards.

Develops plans for conducting specialized occupational safety and health training and promoting programs for instructing and motivating managers and employees in the prevention as well as correction of potential hazards.
