Lead Security Architect

You are a proactive, collaborative, results orientated Lead Security Architect who is extremely driven, with good commercial acumen, looking for an autonomous role with variety, where you can utilise your creative thinking, solutions focus and security skills.

Who we’re looking for

• You are technical, comfortable with tools and comfortable getting involved in technical implementation activities.

• You’ve worked with technical teams to design secure systems and infrastructure.

• You enjoy helping others understand trade-offs and security impacts

• You know how to adapt frameworks to real-world contexts - not just quote them.

• You communicate clearly and respectfully with people at all levels.

• You’re curious, practical, and care about doing right by the people affected by your work.

• You’re comfortable moving between contextual, conceptual, logical, and physical layers of design.

A Bonus if You Can Bring, but not required:

• Experience in DLP and DevSecOps, secure cloud architecture, identity and access design, detection/response pipelines, or regulated environments.

• Background in pre-sales or interest in people leadership - we support different growth paths.

The role

• We do a great job and our clients know it. To meet the continuing demand, we’re hiring a Lead Security Architect to join our team in Wellington or Auckland.

• You’ll work alongside clients to design systems that are secure by default - helping teams navigate real-world trade-offs, apply relevant frameworks, and build trust into their tech. You won’t be dropped into a silo. We work collaboratively, both internally and with clients, to solve the right problems the right way.

What you might do in this role

• Partner with developers, product teams, and technical leads to integrate security into architecture and design decisions.

• Keep New Zealander’s personal information safe and support businesses to accelerate their growth.

• Provide practical guidance on how to meet compliance, risk, and security goals - without overengineering.

• Apply frameworks like NIST CSF, NZISM, PSR or others that fit the context.

• Review infrastructure and cloud designs with an eye for secure-by-design principles.

• Contribute to internal standards, templates, and learning so we all grow together.

Note:

• Due to the nature of our work, this role requires a clean criminal record.

• Successful applicants will be required to complete a criminal record check during the onboarding process.

• You will also need to demonstrate your right to live and work in New Zealand.
