Job Title: Shipping Department Lead
Department: Warehouse / Logistics
Reports To: Operations Manager

Job Summary

The Lead Shipping/Receiving Associate is responsible for overseeing daily shipping and receiving operations to ensure orders are processed, packed, and shipped accurately and on time. This role coordinates shipping/receiving staff, maintains shipping schedules, ensures compliance with company procedures, and supports efficient warehouse operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily shipping activities and workflow.
  • Ensure orders are picked, packed, labeled, and shipped accurately.
  • Monitor shipping schedules and meet delivery deadlines.
  • Train, guide, and support shipping department employees.
  • Verify shipping documentation, packing lists, and carrier paperwork.
  • Coordinate with warehouse, inventory, and customer service teams.
  • Ensure compliance with safety procedures and company policies.
  • Ensure purchase orders and packing lists match documentation.
  • Troubleshoot shipping issues, delays, or discrepancies.
  • Maintain organized shipping areas and efficient processes.
  • Assist with loading/unloading shipments when needed.
  • Track shipments and provide status updates when required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED (associate degree preferred).
  • 2+ years of warehouse or shipping and receiving experience.
  • 1+ year of leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with shipping carriers (UPS, FedEx, freight carriers).
  • Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS), shipping software, or ERP systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to lift 40–50 lbs and work in a warehouse environment.
