About the Role

Our client, a prominent fintech company, is seeking an experienced and visionary Lead Software Developer specializing in Java to join their core engineering team based in Centurion, Gauteng . This is a critical on-site position, requiring your full-time presence to spearhead the development of high-performance, scalable financial applications. You will be responsible for guiding a talented team of developers, setting technical direction, and ensuring the delivery of robust, enterprise-grade software solutions. This role demands a deep understanding of the software development lifecycle, from architecture and design to implementation and deployment, with a focus on delivering exceptional quality and innovation. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and implementation of complex Java-based applications.
• Architect scalable, secure, and high-performance software solutions.
• Mentor and guide a team of software developers, fostering their technical growth.
• Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, QA, and operations.
• Drive the adoption of new technologies and development methodologies.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in production and development environments.
• Contribute to the definition of technical roadmaps and strategy.
• Ensure the quality, reliability, and maintainability of the codebase.
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, coding, testing, and deployment.

Requirements

• Extensive experience as a Software Developer, with a significant portion in a leadership or senior role.
• Expert-level proficiency in Java and its associated frameworks (e.g., Spring Boot, Hibernate).
• Proven experience in designing and developing large-scale, enterprise-level applications.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles and design patterns.
• Experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and SQL.
• Familiarity with microservices architecture and RESTful API design.
• Experience with build tools (Maven, Gradle) and version control systems (Git).
• Knowledge of CI/CD practices and tools.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and debugging skills.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Must be willing to work full-time on-site in Centurion, Gauteng .
