In this Software Engineer role, you will design, build, and maintain data-enabled software that supports NHS Dorset’s data, intelligence and operational priorities. You will collaborate with analysts, data scientists, BI teams and operational stakeholders to translate requirements into robust, secure digital solutions. You will lead from discovery through production, champion modern engineering practices, and explore AI-assisted tools to boost quality and delivery pace. You will ensure solutions are secure, governance-aligned and accessible to users across teams.

- Build backend services, APIs, and front-end experiences for data and analytical workflows

- Strong analytical and numerical skills with experience in budgeting and procurement
- Experience with project principles/tools (e.g., Prince 2 Foundation, Microsoft Project)
- Proficiency in multiple programming languages (Python, R, .NET, JavaScript, SQL) and cloud frameworks
- Knowledge of secure coding and governance practices
