Lead Software Developer (PHP & AI Integration)
Salary: RM 9,000 – RM 10,000 per month
About the role
As the Lead Software Developer (PHP & AI Integration) at Chris Business Solution Sdn Bhd, you will be responsible for leading a team of talented developers in the design, development, and deployment of innovative software solutions. This is a full-time role based in Butterworth, Penang, where you will play a crucial part in shaping the company's technological direction and delivering exceptional results.
What you'll be doing
Provide technical leadership and direction to the software development team
Design, develop, and implement complex software applications using PHP and other relevant technologies
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions
Ensure high-quality, scalable, and maintainable code through code reviews, testing, and continuous improvement
Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies, and implement innovative solutions to enhance the company's offerings
Mentor and train junior developers, fostering a culture of knowledge-sharing and professional development
Participate in project planning, resource allocation, and delivery of software projects within defined timelines and budgets
Architect and integrate AI capabilities, including Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and intelligent workflows, into web applications
Implement AI guardrails, output validation, and safety protocols to mitigate hallucinations and security risks
Establish robust AI logging, monitoring, and tracing to troubleshoot prompt performance, token costs, and system latency
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree or Masters in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related field
Open for Malaysian Citizen only
Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience as a software developer, with at least 3 years as Tech Lead or Senior Software Engineer, with deep expertise in PHP development or Laravel
Strong proficiency in PHP frameworks (Laravel, etc.) and experience with front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript,MySQL)
Practical experience with LLM integration, RAG architectures, and AI guardrail/observability practices
Strong understanding of software design patterns, agile methodologies, and best practices in software development
Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills
Experience in managing and mentoring a team of developers
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
