Overview
Lead Software Engineer within the Consumer & Community Banking organization, contributing to agile teams that build, enhance, and deliver trusted technology products in a secure, scalable way.
Responsibilities
- Executes software solutions, design, development, and troubleshooting with the ability to think beyond routine approaches to build solutions or solve complex problems
- Develops secure, high-quality production code; reviews and debugs code written by others
- Identifies opportunities to automate remediation of recurring issues to improve operational stability
- Leads evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to assess architectural designs and applicability within existing systems
- Leads communities of practice across Software Engineering to promote awareness and adoption of new technologies
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- 5+ years of Java experience
- Hands-on experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
- Hands-on experience with Spring Boot
- Proficiency in REST API
- Proficient in Kafka
- Advanced understanding of multi-region deployments
- Demonstrated proficiency in Artificial Intelligence (e.g., Co-Pilot, LLM)
- In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and its IT systems
- Cloud infrastructure experience
- Event-driven architecture experience
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- AWS experience
- Terraform experience
- Experience with Blue-Green/Canary deployments
- Experience with observability tools (e.g., Grafana, Prometheus)
- Experience with Cassandra
- Experience with performance optimization and troubleshooting
