What You'll Be Doing:

Delivery:

  • Leveraging your expertise to lead the development of world-class web and mobile applications for leading organisations in Australia.

  • Driving technical direction and architectural decisions across projects, ensuring scalability, performance, and maintainability.

  • Exploring methods to enhance product quality through containerisation and continuous integration, fostering a streamlined DevOps culture.

  • Leading various stages of the SDLC, from system design to analysis, scoping, and estimation.

  • Researching innovative technologies and championing their implementation to drive innovation.

People:

  • Leading, mentoring, and growing a team of engineers, fostering technical excellence and accountability.

  • Demonstrating maturity, motivation, and leadership in the workplace.

  • Championing change within the team and fostering a collaborative culture.

  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to tackle complex business challenges, driving continuous improvement.

  • Setting the standard for code quality, engineering practices, and technical decision-making.

  • Providing guidance and career development support to team members through regular check-ins.

Customer:

  • Building strong relationships and understanding customer needs to deliver impactful solutions.

  • Acting as a trusted technical advisor to clients and stakeholders.

  • Managing customer expectations and identifying opportunities for service improvements.

What We Need from You:

  • A bachelor's degree in IT, Engineering, or related fields.

  • Minimum 8+ years' experience as a software engineer, including proven experience in a technical leadership or lead engineer capacity.

  • Demonstrated experience leading and mentoring a delivery team together with other disciplines to successfully deliver a product.

  • A hunger to continually improve those around you through mentorship, guidance, and awareness of what drives those on your team.

  • A solid understanding of software engineering fundamentals and commitment to clean code and best practices.

  • Mastery of various technologies with the agility to adapt to new frameworks.

  • Proven ability to architect and structure projects within an enterprise environment.

  • Strong stakeholder management, collaboration, and communication skills.

  • Experience making pragmatic technical trade-offs and driving consensus across teams.

  • Pro hybrid working model working from the office on average 2–3 times per week.

  • A strong customer-facing ability.

  • Flexibility to work across a variety of different environments and tooling.
