About the Role

Our client, a rapidly growing Fin Tech innovator based in Sandton, Gauteng, ZA , is seeking an experienced Lead Software Engineer to spearhead the development of cutting-edge financial technology solutions. This critical role involves leading a team of talented engineers, driving architectural decisions, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, scalable, and secure software. You will play a key part in shaping the future of our product offerings, working with modern technologies in a dynamic environment. This position offers a hybrid work model, combining collaborative on-site work in Sandton with remote flexibility.

Key Responsibilities Lead the design, development, and deployment of robust and scalable software solutions within the Fin Tech domain. Mentor and guide a team of software engineers, fostering technical excellence and professional growth. Define and enforce coding standards, best practices, and development methodologies. Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to define project requirements and technical specifications. Make key architectural decisions and ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs. Write clean, efficient, well-documented, and maintainable code. Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and deployment. Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing software systems. Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends in software engineering and Fin Tech. Requirements Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Minimum of 7+ years of professional software development experience, with at least 2 years in a lead or senior technical role. Proven experience in the Fin Tech industry or with financial systems development. Strong expertise in one or more programming languages such as Python, Java, Go, or C++. Deep understanding of software architecture patterns, microservices, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP). Experience with database technologies (SQL, No SQL) and message queuing systems. Familiarity with agile development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban). Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills. Ability to lead and inspire a technical team effectively. Experience working within a hybrid work model in the Sandton, Gauteng, ZA area is preferred.
