Lead Software Engineer

• Set technical direction and lead the design, development and deployment of scalable software solutions across the organisation
• Provide technical leadership, coaching and mentoring to engineers
• Work with Product Managers, Architects and stakeholders to understand business needs, define technical solutions, estimate work and prioritise development activities
• Drive high standards for code quality, security, performance, scalability, reliability and maintainability
• Review and challenge technical decisions and ensure alignment with architectural and engineering standards
• Troubleshoot complex technical problems, identify risks and drive continuous improvement
• Help teams adopt modern DevOps, CI/CD, testing and observability practices
• Explore and apply AI-assisted development and agentic engineering practices
• Establish effective uses of AI for code generation, refactoring, testing, documentation, code review, analysis and developer workflows
• Ensure AI-generated solutions meet standards for security, quality, maintainability and reliability
• Contribute to the evolution of engineering practices and shape AI-enabled software development

Requirements

• Experienced software engineer and technical leader
• Strong track record of delivering complex enterprise applications
• Experience designing secure, scalable and maintainable solutions
• Strong knowledge of modern software engineering practices across .NET, cloud platforms, containers, databases, CI/CD, testing and observability
• Experience with C#/.NET and VB.NET
• Knowledge of AWS, Elasticsearch, Grafana, Kubernetes, Docker and RDS
• Comfortable moving between architecture, hands-on engineering and strategic technical discussions
• Ability to set technical direction and make sound technical decisions
• Ability to constructively challenge existing approachesExperience mentoring engineers
• Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business outcomes
• Curiosity about AI, LLMs and agentic development
• Experience with AI coding assistants or AI-driven development workflows is a strong advantage
