Lead Software Engineer
Summary
Lead backend engineering for Razer Gold’s e-commerce systems, modernizing core Java services and migrating to a new stack while mentoring engineers and driving scalable, high-availability solutions.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead overall backend system development and play a key role in the Razer Gold Engineering team.
- Report to the Senior Manager of Software Engineering and collaborate closely with other engineering functions, product managers, and business stakeholders to lead system modernization efforts.
- Proactively drive design and implementation of the Razer Gold core backend system.
- Engage with product and partner teams for business and technical requirements.
- Drive review of technical design and implementation of the team.
- Lead the team to tackle challenging technical issues and prepare for foreseeable technical challenges.
- Build high-quality code with unit tests and automation tests; set an example for quality.
- Stay on top of critical issues and drive them to resolution.
- Lead migration of the existing system to a new tech stack.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- BA/BS in Computer Science, Math, Physics, or other technical fields.
- 8+ years of experience in e‑commerce Java‑based core system design and implementation.
- Experience building highly scalable, highly available online systems.
- Solid hands‑on experience in JVM tuning and heap dump analysis.
- Good understanding of GCs, Java profiling.
- Experience in .NET system is a huge plus.
- Experience in database systems, especially PostgreSQL, MySQL, and Microsoft SQL Server.
- Experience with at least one major public cloud service, especially AWS.
- Experience in CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Jenkins.
