Lead Software Engineer
Summary
Lead the design and delivery of browser-based lottery games using TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML5, PIXI.js/Phaser, and GSAP while mentoring engineers, driving architecture decisions, and ensuring code quality.

Position Summary
Roles and Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and delivery of games across various markets, taking ownership of technical direction end-to-end.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product, art, design) to define, architect, and ship high-quality games.
- Mentor and guide Software Engineers and Senior Software Engineers, conducting code reviews and raising the team's technical bar.
- Drive technical architecture decisions, evaluate trade-offs, and set best practices and coding standards for the team.
- Identify, debug, and resolve complex performance bottlenecks and critical bugs across the codebase.
- Own code quality, championing automation, testing strategy, and CI/CD practices across the team.
- Drive unit testing and QA processes to ensure robust, well-tested game releases.
- Efficiently use browser extensions and tools to profile, debug, and optimize game performance.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to plan sprints, estimate timelines, and manage technical risk.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and evaluate their applicability to ongoing projects.
Skills Required:
- 8+ years of hands-on experience in software development, including significant experience in TypeScript.
- Proven experience leading or mentoring a team of engineers, with strong ownership of technical decisions.
- In-depth understanding of JavaScript, ES6+ features, HTML5, and CSS3.
- Strong experience with Computer Graphics, PIXI.js/Phaser, and GSAP.
- Solid understanding of Data Structures, Algorithms, and Object-Oriented Programming, with the ability to make sound architectural decisions.
- Strong Analytical, Debugging, and Problem-solving skills, with a track record of resolving complex, ambiguous technical issues.
- Experience with Git or similar version control tools, including branching strategies and code review workflows.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence technical direction across teams.
- Experience with Node.js and NPM.
- Strong familiarity with RESTful APIs and web services.
- Experience setting up or improving CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks is a plus.
