Lead Software Engineer – with a path toward CTO
Summary
Lead the full-stack build-out of an AI-powered medical-device product for tumor analysis from CT scans, including data pipelines and regulatory compliance, with a path to CTO.
CarcinoQuant develops AI-based software for quantitative tumor analysis from CT data, aimed at oncology drug development as well as clinical use. Our algorithm engine is in place and we are rapidly expanding our ground truth sets. With the engine in place, the next step is to build out the full product around it — everything still needed to turn it into a finished, regulatory-grade Software as a Medical Device ready for customer deployment. This is where you come in.
The role
This is a broad, hands-on engineering role with ownership of the entire software side. As we grow, this role is intended to develop into a CTO position. Concretely, you will:
- set the development plan and architecture for the product
- build the data pipeline from customer to algorithm and back, including PACS integration
- help drive the continued recruitment of software resources
- report to the management team
This is a role for someone who likes to roll up their sleeves — you build the organization at the same time as you build the product.
What we're looking for
- 5–10 years of experience as a software engineer with a full-stack profile
- experience building data-intensive user interfaces
- experience from a regulated environment, ideally medical technology / SaMD
- within commuting distance of Uppsala
Meriting
- experience with DICOM and medical imaging workflows
- the maturity to work with a high degree of autonomy and grow into a technical leadership role
What we offer
A fixed salary plus options through our employee stock option program (KPO), and the opportunity to shape both the technology and the team in an early-stage, growing company.
