Lead / Staff Backend Engineer

We are looking for a seasoned, high-performing hands-on Staff Engineer to drive the technical execution and architecture of our backend services. You will be responsible for solving complex technical challenges, ensuring system reliability, and contributing to a high-standard codebase. You will play a key part in guiding technical decisions and supporting the growth of junior engineers through peer code reviews and knowledge sharing tasks.

Responsibilities:

• Own and lead the architecture, design, and development of scalable, high-performance backend systems powering mission-critical, high-concurrency platforms, ensuring reliability, availability, security, and long-term maintainability.
• Drive technical excellence by establishing engineering standards and best practices through clean, production-ready code, code reviews, technical design discussions, and continuous improvement of testing, documentation, and development processes.
• Partner with Product and Engineering leaders to align technical strategy with business objectives and ensure successful delivery of critical initiatives.
• Drive system performance, reliability, and operational excellence by optimizing applications, databases, and distributed systems.
• Lead the resolution of complex production issues, and improving platform scalability under heavy workloads.
• Mentor and grow team of backend engineers through technical coaching, knowledge sharing, and hands-on leadership while continuously evaluating new technologies and architectural patterns to strengthen the platform and engineering capabilities.

Requirements:

• 6 years+ of backend development experience in high-concurrency engineering environment such as e-commerce, gaming and social platforms.
• Bachelor's degree or above in computer science, software engineering, or a related technical field.
• Expert proficiency in C# and the .NET 6 / Core framework.
• Strong hands-on experience with at least one other backend language such as Golang, Java, or Python.
• Deep understanding of multi-threading, asynchronous programming, and distributed system fundamentals.
• Advanced knowledge of relational databases (MSSQL) and performance tuning.
• Proven ability to work independently on complex tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Practical experience applying modern DevOps principles such as CI/CD pipeline automation.

Nice-to-Haves:

• Experience designing microservices or event-driven architectures (Kafka, RabbitMQ).
• Hands-on experience deploying, managing, and scaling backend applications in cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Alibaba, Azure etc).
