Lead Teacher Daycare (Infants)

Position Summary

Implements plans/activities, prepares daily/weekly schedule, individual/group activities for children, lesson plans, designs room arrangements and learning centers. Implements and reinforces behavior management strategies. Prepares materials and learning areas, participates with children and supervises children. Helps direct activities of teacher assistants and volunteers.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

1. Plans daily activities according to developmentally appropriate curriculum.
2. Maintains visual supervision of children at all times.
3. Organize classroom structure and implement appropriate actions as needed.
4. Maintain accurate paperwork and documentation.
5. Communicates with parents/caregivers on a daily basis.
6. Implements daily lesson plans/activity plans on a daily basis.
7. Implement IFSP's/IEP’s.
8. Assists children in daily plans, schedules.
9. Models appropriate behaviors for children.
10. Organize and maintain student portfolios, utilizing Kaymbu on a daily basis.
12. Implements progress reports and parent/teacher conferences.
13. Develop and maintain a working knowledge of North Carolina Division of Child Development Childcare Rules and Regulations.
14. Maintain cleanliness of classroom.
15. Maintain cleanliness of children.
16. Supervises teacher assistants.

Other duties as assigned.
