Lead Teacher Presschool

Position Summary

Lead teacher will be responsible for the overall operation of the Preschool Classroom; for daily lesson plans, activities and supervision of classroom on a daily basis. Will maintain appropriate staff ratios at all times. Teacher will have a working knowledge of North Carolina Division of Child Development Rules and Regulations as related to childcare programs. Will work with other staff to maintain a safe and healthy environment for children to play and learn. Will organize and maintain children’s records in an orderly fashion. Will communicate with parents/caregivers on a daily basis. Will supervise and delegate responsibilities to teacher assistants, and volunteers as needed.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

1. Must maintain B-K License from DPI as Lead Teacher through NC Division of Child Development.
2. Implement TS Gold according to NC Pre-K guidance.
3. Maintain accurate paperwork and documentation.
4. Develop and implement daily lesson plans, activity plans and schedules for classroom.
5. Organize classroom structure and implement appropriate actions as needed.
6. Organize and maintain student portfolios, utilizing Kaymbu on a daily basis.
7. Oversee classroom activities and supervise other personnel as needed.
8. Organize classroom learning areas and maintain a safe environment.
9. Maintain cleanliness of classroom and children.
10. Supervision of teacher assistants and volunteers.
11. Supervision of students.
12. Attend IEP meeting and provide information to aid in the development of IEP’s.
13. Implementation of IEP’s for all students in Preschool Program with documentation noted.
14. Communicates with parents/caregivers on a daily basis.
15. Other duties as assigned.
