Salary: AUD 140 - 170 per hour

we are working on an exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Lead Microservices & AI Technical Architect to drive enterprise-wide technology transformation within a large Federal Government environment. This role will provide architectural leadership across cloud-native platforms, microservices ecosystems, AI-enabled engineering practices, and modern software delivery capabilities

You will work closely with senior stakeholders, multidisciplinary delivery teams, and technology partners to ensure scalable, secure, and resilient solutions that support organisational transformation objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical leadership and architectural governance for cloud-native, microservices-based, and AI-enabled platforms.
  • Drive the adoption of AI-enabled software development practices, DevSecOps, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, observability, and platform engineering standards.
  • Lead technology modernisation initiatives, including containerisation, enterprise integration, and reusable architecture patterns.
  • Influence strategic technology decisions and ensure alignment with enterprise architecture, security, and business objectives.
  • Build organisational capability through mentoring, governance frameworks, knowledge transfer, and engineering leadership.
  • Demonstrated expertise in AI engineering, enterprise AI solutions, machine learning, semantic search, and responsible AI practices.
  • Strong background in software engineering, DevSecOps, CI/CD, automated testing, observability, and security-by-design principles.
  • Proven success leading large-scale technology modernisation and transformation programs.
  • Experience with Kubernetes, OpenShift, AKS, EKS, or GKE.
  • Knowledge of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), platform engineering, cloud modernisation, and enterprise automation practices.
  • Experience leading Agile delivery teams and driving capability uplift across distributed workforces
