Lead Technical Architect

Summary

Senior architecture leader acting as the enterprise technical authority for Oracle Fusion integration with Qatar Airways' in-house applications. Day to day they define the target-state event-driven integration architecture using Solace, Red Hat App Foundation, Apache Camel and Oracle Integration Cloud, set standards and governance, and mentor architects and delivery teams.

About the role:

In this leadership role, you will act as the enterprise technical authority for Oracle Fusion integration with Qatar Airways in-house applications, defining the target-state integration architecture and governing the delivery of a large-scale, mission-critical transformation programme.

You will provide strategic technical leadership for an event-driven integration landscape using Solace, Red Hat App Foundation, Oracle Integration Cloud, APIs, and enterprise integration patterns, ensuring solutions are secure, resilient, scalable, observable, and aligned with enterprise architecture standards.

As a senior architecture leader, you will establish governance, standards, reusable patterns, and technical assurance practices for the Oracle Fusion integration programme, while mentoring architects and delivery teams and influencing key technology decisions across Qatar Airways Group IT.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Define and govern the end-to-end technical blueprint and target-state integration architecture for Oracle Fusion integration with Qatar Airways in-house applications, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture, cloud strategy, security, and operational excellence standards.

  • Lead the architecture of resilient, scalable, secure, and auditable integration solutions using Solace, Red Hat App Foundation, Apache Camel, Oracle Integration Cloud, APIs, and event-driven architecture patterns.

  • Establish enterprise integration standards covering publish/subscribe, request/reply, saga, outbox/inbox, service orchestration, message transformation, canonical data models, topic hierarchy, event schemas, routing rules, versioning, and payload governance.

  • Provide strategic technical leadership and assurance across key project deliverables, including technical architecture documents, high-level designs, interface specifications, NFRs, integration patterns, environment designs, and production readiness artefacts.

  • Define and govern Non-Functional Requirements for integration workloads, including availability, reliability, performance, scalability, resiliency, security, observability, auditability, maintainability, recoverability, and operational supportability.

  • Ensure integration solutions are designed for zero message loss, guaranteed delivery, idempotency, replay, retry, exponential backoff, dead-letter handling, poison message management, back pressure, throttling, and self-healing capabilities.

  • Govern the use of Solace and Red Hat App Foundation as strategic integration platforms, ensuring platform capabilities, configuration standards, operational controls, and implementation patterns are consistently applied across the programme.

  • Lead architecture reviews, design reviews, code reviews, and technical governance forums to ensure delivery teams comply with approved architecture, integration standards, security controls, and engineering quality gates.

  • Define observability and monitoring standards using OpenTelemetry, distributed tracing, trace context propagation, centralized logging, dashboards, metrics, alerting, and APM tools to provide end-to-end visibility from Oracle Fusion to QR applications.

  • Drive performance engineering, capacity planning, resilience testing, failure-mode analysis, and production readiness reviews to ensure critical integration flows can operate reliably under business-critical workloads.

  • Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture, Cyber Security, Infrastructure, Cloud, Application, and Business teams to ensure the integration approach supports business outcomes while meeting Qatar Airways Group standards.

  • Partner with Oracle, platform vendors, and implementation partners to validate solution options, influence technical decisions, resolve architectural risks, and ensure fit-for-purpose use of Oracle Fusion, OIC, Solace, and Red Hat capabilities.

  • Lead root cause analysis for critical integration incidents, ensure corrective and preventive actions are implemented, and continuously improve reliability, supportability, and operational maturity.

  • Plan and lead technical evaluations, proof-of-concepts, and architecture spikes to validate complex integration scenarios, emerging capabilities, platform constraints, and delivery risks before large-scale implementation.

  • Build and mentor a high-performing architecture and engineering community by guiding solution architects, technical leads, integration engineers, DevSecOps engineers, and platform teams on enterprise integration best practices.
