Description

Requirements:

  • Three years minimum. No exceptions, with a track record of owning design end-to-end, ideally as part of a founding or early design team, for a real stretch of time.
  • Complex workflows you designed, shipped, and watched real customers use every day.
  • You ask the right questions. We do not expect you to arrive knowing our domain. We expect you to sit with engineers, work out how they actually read a drawing, and get to the right workflow by asking better questions than anyone else in the room. You do not wait for a spec.
  • Strong information architecture instincts for expert users working in dense, constraint-heavy, precision workflows.
  • Taste and precision that show up in the product. This is the one thing we will not compromise on.
  • You build alignment without formal authority across engineering, product, and the founders through clarity, craft, and a well-reasoned argument.
  • Comfort in technical depth. You can hold your own as a peer in conversations about architecture, performance, and trade-offs.
  • Fluency using AI to get to working prototypes in code. Claude Code, Claude Design, Figma MCP servers, or equivalents.
  • Based in Bangalore or ready to move here. We support relocation from anywhere.
  • B2B experience is a must. You've designed for business customers before, enterprises, workflows, or platform tools, not just consumer apps.

What good looks like:

  • You learn the visual vocabulary of a domain and design inside it, rather than imposing patterns from somewhere else.
  • You make a dense expert workflow feel almost invisible without making it shallow.
  • You design the moments that decide everything: the explanation, the override, the review that catches an error before it costs money.
  • You ship, and you know when to polish and when to go and learn.
  • You build principles and systems, so the quality holds when you are not in the room.

Nice to have:

  • A working understanding of CAD workflows, GD& T, or how physical products get designed and manufactured.
  • Professional tools with real depth. Pro Tools, DaVinci Resolve, Virtual DJ, and similar.
  • Robotics, especially first run and onboarding for physical systems.
  • Connected consumer hardware, where software, hardware, data, and the user all meet.
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems and PLM software.
  • Enough front-end familiarity to prototype and to talk to engineers as a peer.
