Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Lead Value Engineer to join our team! In this role you will be responsible for leading and delivering Value Engineering (VE) studies across projects, driving cost optimization, performance improvement, and value enhancement through structured methodologies and stakeholder collaboration.
What You'll Be Doing:
Plan, lead, and facilitate Value Engineering / Value Management workshops in accordance with SAVE International standards
Conduct Function Analysis (FAST), cost modeling, and value assessments to identify optimization opportunities
Review project designs, drawings, and technical submissions to identify cost-saving and performance-enhancing solutions
Develop and present comprehensive VE reports, including recommendations and implementation plans
Coordinate pre-study activities including data collection, stakeholder alignment, and workshop logistics
Facilitate multidisciplinary workshops and guide teams through structured decision-making processes
Evaluate design alternatives based on functionality, cost efficiency, and project requirements
Track and monitor implementation of approved VE recommendations and report on realized savings
Integrate Value Engineering activities into project planning, design, and procurement phases
Support the development of VE frameworks, procedures, and best practices across the organization
Mentor junior engineers and team members on Value Engineering methodologies
Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure alignment and delivery
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline
Minimum 10+ years of relevant experience in engineering, project management, or infrastructure delivery
Minimum 5+ years of direct experience leading Value Engineering studies on major projects
Certified Value Specialist (CVS) – SAVE International (mandatory)
Strong expertise in Function Analysis (FAST), cost modeling, and life-cycle costing
Proven experience facilitating VE workshops within infrastructure, industrial, or municipal sectors
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
Excellent communication and presentation skills for senior stakeholders and clients
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.)
Ability to work in a collaborative, multicultural team environment
Fluent in English (written and spoken); Arabic is an advantage
