Lead Worker (3403)
Summary
Oversee daily cleaning and maintenance of a government building, train staff, and respond to emergencies while ensuring safety and supply orders.
Summary: Perform supervisory and routine custodial activities to maintain buildings & grounds.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Plan, implement, oversee, and participate in custodial activities.
- Train and provide work direction to assigned employees, assigning and reviewing their work.
- Plans and implements appropriate responses to emergencies.
- Perform routine custodial activities, including sweeping, scrubbing, mopping, waxing, and polishing floors, vacuuming carpets, spot cleaning, and maintaining the cafeteria. The supervisor and Manager may assign other duties.
- Report safety, sanitary, and fire hazards to the Custodial Supervisor or other appropriate authority.
- Order custodial supplies by established guidelines and procedures.
- Maintain regular attendance of all custodians
- Respond to emergency cleanups such as spills; maintain records of observed maintenance, repair needs, and safety issues
- Operate cleaning equipment, including vacuums, floor strippers, buffers, polishers, carpet shampooers, scrubbers, high-pressure sprayers, manual and power sweepers, and power blowers, as assigned.
- All other duties as assigned.
