Lead Youth Enrichment Instructor
OVERVIEW
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Under the direction of the Association Director of Learn & Play, this position is responsible for developing and implementing quality curriculum of a specified enrichment program for our community members. This position plays a key role in ensuring that program
participants have a safe, supportive, interactive and enriching program experience with a focus on youth development.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Work with the Association Director to prepare lesson plans on a monthly and/or weekly basis outlining program activities, ensures materials and supplies are available and ready for daily program activities, and ensures all program areas and supplies are clean and well maintained regularly.
- Plan and implement curriculum for the specified enrichment program to include theme, daily schedules, and supplies needed.
- Create a safe, supportive, interactive, and engaging environment for youth that is characterized by teamwork, camaraderie and inclusiveness.
- Complete a written requisition of supplies and submit monthly.
- Positively interact with youth, parents/guardians, and other center team members to create a respectful and supportive environment while sharing program information and building relationships through effective communication.
- Possess a working knowledge of safety and emergency procedures and be able to exercise sound judgment as you are the primary responder for all accidents and incidents.
- Ensures program starts and ends on time and that proper ratios are maintained throughout the enrichment portion of the day.
- Observe and positively interact with children, intervening when necessary to maintain a safe and welcoming environment.
- Greet parents and ensure that all children are properly signed in and out.
- Maintains accurate attendance, instructional, incident/injury reports, and other records as necessary to meet program requirements.
- Attend to the needs of children promptly and with care.
- Complete scheduled shifts and fill in as needed.
- Assist with inventory and maintaining all supplies.
- Maintain all required certifications and annual updates.
- Report any problems or concerns to the Association Director

CERTIFICATIONS
- Complete Hazardous Communications, Harassment Prevention, Blood-borne Pathogens and Child Abuse Prevention training and attend Living Our Cause/Engaging our members at time of hire
- Maintain CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer every year
- Maintain First Aid and Administering Emergency Oxygen every 2 years
- Blood-borne Pathogens/Child Abuse Prevention every year
