The Leadership Development Senior Manager is responsible for designing, developing, and scaling leadership and capability-building solutions across DFI Retail Group.


Reporting to the Head of Leadership Development, this role plays a key part in advancing the organisation's leadership and capability agenda. Leveraging expertise in leadership development, learning design, instructional design, learning technology, and programme delivery, the successful candidate will create innovative and scalable learning solutions that build critical capabilities and support business growth.


Working closely with senior stakeholders, the role will translate business priorities into impactful leadership, capability, future skills, and AI-enabled learning initiatives. The successful candidate will drive learner engagement, strengthen organisational capability, and deliver measurable learning outcomes.

1. Leadership Development & Capability Building

  • Design, develop, and enhance leadership and talent development programmes across different career stages.
  • Translate business priorities into capability-building strategies, learning solutions, and development pathways.
  • Conduct learning needs analyses and capability assessments to identify current and future capability requirements.
  • Develop leadership resources, toolkits, and supporting materials.
  • Partner with senior stakeholders to align development initiatives with business priorities.

2. Learning Experience & Instructional Design

  • Apply instructional design methodologies, adult learning principles, and learning science to create impactful learning experiences.
  • Design blended learning solutions incorporating classroom, virtual, coaching, action learning, digital, social, and AI-enabled approaches.
  • Develop facilitator guides, learner resources, toolkits, and digital content.
  • Ensure programmes are engaging, practical, measurable, and aligned with business objectives.

3. Functional Capability Development & Future Skills

  • Support the design and scaling of capability-building initiatives across corporate and business functions.
  • Develop curricula, learning pathways, and capability frameworks in partnership with business leaders and subject matter experts.
  • Drive programme launches, governance, continuous improvement, and future skills initiatives, including AI literacy and emerging capabilities.
  • Monitor evolving capability needs and learning innovations across the organisation.

4. Learning Technology & Innovation

  • Leverage learning technologies and digital platforms to enhance learner experience and effectiveness.
  • Explore and implement innovative approaches, including AI-powered learning, learning analytics, social learning, and performance support tools.
  • Support learning system enhancements and develop scalable, data-informed learning solutions.
  • Promote adoption of innovative learning practices across programmes.

5. Programme Management & Learning Operations

  • Support programme planning, deployment, execution, and evaluation across the learning portfolio.
  • Coordinate with vendors, facilitators, and stakeholders to ensure successful delivery.
  • Monitor project timelines, milestones, reporting, documentation, and governance processes.


Do you have experience in Leadership / Talent Development?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, HR, Psychology, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in Learning & Development, Leadership Development, Talent Development, Organisational Development, Capability Building, or related fields.
  • Proven track record in designing and delivering leadership, capability-building, and blended learning programmes.
  • Strong experience partnering with senior leaders and stakeholders.
  • Understanding of learner engagement, behavioural change, and learning transfer principles.
  • Ability to influence senior leaders and translate business needs into practical capability-building solutions.
  • Strong expertise in adult learning, instructional design, learner engagement, and behavioural change.
  • Experience with learning technologies, LMS platforms, digital learning tools, and learning analytics.
  • Passion for AI-enabled learning, future workforce capability development, and learning innovation.
  • Strong stakeholder management, consulting, communication, and influencing skills, with the ability to partner effectively with senior leaders.
  • Strong business acumen and experience working across diverse markets, regions, or business units.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft 365; experience using AI tools for learning design is an advantage.
