POSITION SUMMARY:
The Institute of Culinary Education (the Institute) is seeking an Administrative Assistant to join our team and provide exceptional support to our campus leadership team. The Institute is one of America’s leading centers for culinary education and the largest culinary school in New York City and Los Angeles. We are passionate about helping students of all ages and backgrounds pursue their culinary career dreams. We’re looking for an administrative assistant who is enthusiastic about the world of food and excited to contribute to our growing organization.

At the Institute, our leadership team is dedicated to guiding students through their career journey, from enrollment to graduation and career success. This role is vital in helping both the leadership team and students navigate the challenges of succeeding in higher education.
The Administrative Assistant to the Leadership Team is an essential member of our leadership team and reports directly to the Los Angeles Campus President. We support and reward creativity, performance, professional development, and team involvement. We also have fun, and eat well, in the process of changing our students’ lives.
KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Adjust curriculum materials as requested
- Printing student and employee IDs
- Outgoing mail for leadership team
- Ordering office supplies
- Scanning and posting student documents to the student database
- Record meeting minutes at department meetings
- Assist with PR and public facing events as needed
- Assist with set-up of student-related events (new student orientation, open houses, demos, livestreams)
- Professional Advisory Committee (PAC) meeting support (assist with planning, preparation & follow up communication with PAC)
- Order Books & Supplies for Learning Resource Center (assist with building catalog & cataloging books for LRC)
- Order, inventory, and distribute student supplies
- Assist with special projects (student & employer surveys, career fairs, recruitment events, campus displays)
- Assist the IT department with end-user support
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field highly preferred
- Minimum of two (2) years of administrative experience required
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft suite of products including Outlook, PowerPoint, Word and Excel required.
- Advanced proficiency in the use of Windows 11, and PC’s.
- Must possess a strong sense of urgency and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proven ability to work independently and within a team
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple tasks to meet deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to interact in a collaborative manner with others
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- An interest in food and cooking is important
