Job Summary

The Learn to Skate Instructor is responsible for teaching basic skating skills to participants of all ages and skill levels in a group lesson setting. This role is essential to creating a positive first experience on the ice, with a focus on safety, skill development, and fun. The instructor must be energetic, patient, and able to communicate clearly with children and parents.

Responsibilities

On-Ice Instruction

  • Teach structured group lessons following the LTS USA curriculum.
  • Lead warm-ups, skill progressions, and games tailored to each level.
  • Monitor skater safety and encourage good technique and sportsmanship.
  • Provide individual feedback and track skill development for evaluations.

Classroom & Program Support

  • Assist with registration, check-in, and class assignments before sessions.
  • Communicate clearly with parents and participants about progress, levels, and next steps.
  • Help with class planning, level testing, and special events (e.g., ice shows or exhibitions).
  • Assist with rink setup and cleanup before/after classes.
