Learning and Development Manager

We are seeking an experienced Learning and Development Manager to design, implement, and manage learning initiatives that support employees across various business lines across the company. This role will assess organizational training needs, develop practical learning solutions, and deliver programs that strengthen employee skills, support career growth, and enhance business performance. Training may be delivered online, in person, and/or on-site. The ideal candidate will bring strong learning and development expertise, excellent facilitation and communication skills, and a commitment to fostering a culture of continuous learning across all departments.
Job Responsibilities:

Curriculum Development:

Identify training needs through surveys, interviews, consultations, data review, and observation.
Design, develop, and implement learning programs that support companywide priorities, department-specific needs, leadership development, compliance requirements, and employee skill-building.
Ensure training content is current, relevant, accessible, and aligned with organizational goals, policies, and best practices.
Create training materials, facilitator guides, job aids, manuals, and online learning modules.

Training Delivery:

Lead engaging training sessions, workshops and seminars for employees at all levels.
Utilize various instructional methods and technologies to accommodate diverse learning styles.
Deliver training using a variety of methods, including instructor-led sessions, virtual learning, simulations, group discussions, and hands-on activities.

Needs Assessment:

Conduct regular assessments to identify training needs and skill gaps across the organization, and partner with department leaders to ensure learning initiatives support business objectives.
Participate in cross-functional meetings to understand business needs, address learning priorities, and identify opportunities for improvement.

Evaluate training needs and measure the effectiveness of learning programs.

Compliance and Organizational Training:

Stay current on learning and development trends, workplace training practices, compliance requirements, and tools that can enhance employee learning across the organization.
Integrate required compliance, policy, systems, leadership, and professional development training into the broader learning strategy.
Track outcomes and maintain accurate records of training and development activities.

Performance Evaluation:

Develop metrics to assess training effectiveness, gather feedback from participants and stakeholders, and use insights to continuously improve content, delivery, and learning outcomes.

Mentorship and Coaching:

Provide ongoing support, coaching, and guidance to employees and managers to reinforce learning and support professional development.

Collaboration:

Partner with internal leaders, external vendors, professional associations, and educational resources to expand learning opportunities and ensure programs remain practical, relevant, and aligned with company needs.
Coordinate training logistics, event planning, communications, materials, and vendor relationships as needed.

Budget Management:

Manage the learning and development budget, ensuring resources are allocated effectively to support training initiatives, tools, materials, and vendor partnerships.

Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Strong knowledge of adult learning principles, instructional design, facilitation techniques, and organizational development practices.
Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to build trust, engage learners, and foster a positive learning environment.
Proficiency in using Learning Management Systems (LMS) and training software.
Advanced organizational skills and attention to detail.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Familiarity with modern and traditional training methods, tools, and technologies.
Excellent leadership and motivational skills
Ability to plan, prioritize, manage time, and balance multiple initiatives effectively.
Good collaboration and teamwork skills
Strategic thinking, honesty, and ethics in business dealings
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, OneDrive, and SharePoint.
Experience with HR systems, learning platforms, or other workplace technology tools a plus.

Minimum Education Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education, Business Administration, or a related field.

Minimum Experience Required:

7+ years of experience in learning and development, training, organizational development, or a related HR function.
