Position Summary
We are seeking a performance-minded, strategic Learning and Development Strategist to align our organizational growth objectives with targeted capability-building strategies. Moving away from a simple "order-taking" approach to corporate training, you will act as an internal management consultant. You will embed directly with business unit leaders to diagnose performance bottlenecks, forecast critical skills gaps, and co-create impactful human-centered learner journeys. The ideal candidate pairs AI fluency and skills and data literacy with adult learning expertise to shift our L&D team from a cost center to a core performance enabler.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Business Consulting & Intake
- Act as the dedicated L&D interface and trusted advisor for assigned functional business units.
- Conduct root-cause performance consultations with department leaders to determine whether productivity blocks stem from skills deficiencies or from separate process, technical, or talent challenges.
- Build strong, collaborative ties with HR Business Partners (HRBPs) to weave learning infrastructure tightly into broader talent pipelines, internal mobility routes, and success planning initiatives.
Capabilities Assessment & Strategy Design
- Apply qualitative and quantitative data methodologies to map active skill inventories, identify current workforce blind spots, and forecast future capability shifts.
- Use AI-assisted tools to synthesize findings and identify patterns, themes, and opportunities.
- Support and guide development of learning and program materials that integrates AI-assisted creation and review
- Map blended, adaptive learner journeys combining structured training modules with informal social loops and job-embedded experiential training.
- Partner with instructional design colleagues to deliver contextually precise, localized learning interventions.
Program Governance, Metrics & ROI
- Define success metrics that connect learning initiatives to performance outcomes
- Use data and analytics to evaluate effectiveness and identify opportunities for improvement
- Continuously refine learning programs based on feedback, performance data, and business needs
- Support the development of dashboards and reporting tools that provide visibility into learning impact
Qualifications & Competencies
- 5–8+ years of experience in Learning & Development, instructional design, or performance consulting
- Strong foundation in adult learning principles, instructional design, and curriculum development
- Experience conducting learning needs analysis and translating findings into structured solutions
- Demonstrated use of AI tools (LLMs, content generation, workflow automation) in a professional setting
- Ability to analyze data and translate insights into actionable learning strategies
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
Preferred Experience
- Experience in construction, engineering, manufacturing, or technically complex industries
- Familiarity with LMS/LXP platforms and learning technologies
- Experience developing scalable training programs across multiple locations or functions
- Exposure to AI-assisted learning tools and digital content development platforms
