We’re on our own journey to align ourselves better with te ao Māori and our team is filled with open source enthusiasts who share our values of openness, freedom, collaboration and respect.

About the role

Catalyst has built open source software for New Zealand organisations since 1997. Our Learning Solutions team helps government, tertiary, and corporate clients get genuine value from Moodle, Tōtara, and Mahara learning management platforms. We are adding a consultant to that team.

You will look after a portfolio of learning solutions clients and make sure they get good service and real results from their platforms.

Working with our account managers, you will help draw out what each client needs, then plan and deliver the technical response alongside developers and consultant team peers. You will manage client issues through to resolution, spot the opportunities in everyday requests, and feed what you learn back into how we support each account.

The role grows with you. As your platform knowledge and client relationships deepen, so does your scope, into deeper consulting and account work.

About you

You have done this kind of work before and can apply that experience from day one. You are comfortable running several client engagements at once, and keeping them moving when priorities shift and the full picture is not yet clear.

You will bring:

  • Solid experience with a learning management or HR systems. Ideally you will have some experience in the implementation of Moodle and or Tōtara
  • A background working in or with a People or Human Resources team, or in an L&D, people, or capability environment
  • Clear communication with everyone from operational staff to senior stakeholders
  • The ability to identify and turn a client need into a practical, deliverable plan
  • A clear sense of ownership of delivery outcomes - you follow work through, and clients and colleagues alike always know where things stand in that delivery.

Experience building organisational learning and development strategies or competency frameworks will be considered a bonus.
