Summary

Provide academic interventions and support for K-8 students with learning disabilities or gifted needs, collaborating with teachers and specialists to create tailored education plans.

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced learning specialist to join our school community. The ideal candidate will have a special education certification, experience working with gifted students, and be able to provide academic interventions to meet the diverse needs of our student body. In addition, the candidate will have experience partnering with grade-level teams to plan and implement support for students in K-8th grade.

Reporting To: Director of the Center for Responsive Learning

When Needed: 2026-2027 school year

FTE: 100% Full Time, Long Term Sub for 26-27 Academic Year

Pay rate: ranges between $67,000 and $145,000 annually based on education and experience

General Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct services to students in preschool through 8th grade setting with identified learning disabilities, including but not limited to dyslexia, ADHD, and executive functioning deficits.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, parents, team members, and administrators to develop and implement Educational Accommodations Plans (EAPs) that support the academic, social, and emotional growth of students.
  • Help conduct assessments and analyze data to determine appropriate interventions and accommodations.
  • Develop and implement academic interventions that address the specific needs of students, including but not limited to reading, writing, math, and study skills.
  • Work with classroom teachers and other specialists to identify and support gifted students, providing appropriate academic challenges and enrichment opportunities.
  • Serve as a resource and advocate for families and students to ensure they are receiving appropriate support and services.
  • Collaborate with outside service providers, including speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, and psychologists to support students as needed.
