About the Role

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teaching staff and other professionals to provide personalised support to students with a range of learning disabilities and additional needs.

You will have:

  • A positive and flexible approach to supporting students with additional needs.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • The ability to build positive, professional relationships with students and colleagues.
  • A commitment to promoting dignity, respect and independence.
  • A willingness to learn and develop your skills.

Knowledge or experience of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) is desirable, as is an understanding of how to support individuals through person-centred approaches that promote positive outcomes.

Previous experience in education, health and social care, or supporting individuals with additional needs would be beneficial.

Why Join Derwen College?

At Derwen College, we are committed to helping our students develop the skills, confidence and independence they need for adult life. You will be joining a supportive team where your contribution can make a genuine difference every day.

If you are passionate about supporting young people and want to be part of a team that helps students achieve their goals, we would love to hear from you.
