LECTURER / SENIOR LECTURER, SOFTWARE ENGINEERING - SCHOOL OF INFOCOMM TECHNOLOGY

[What the role is]

This is a 2-year contract position as a Lecturer / Senior Lecturer in the School of InfoComm Technology.

The school is looking for full-time lecturer to teach modules in the domain area of:
- Software engineering
- DevSecOps
- Cloud services
- Cloud deployment (Kubernetes, Terraform, etc)
- Cloud architecture

The candidate will be assigned to teach Pre-Employment Training (PET) and Continuing Education and Training (CET) classes in the area that he / she is a subject matter expert in. Training will be provided for domain areas that candidates are unfamiliar with.

[What you will be working on]

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Develop teaching and assessment materials, conduct lessons and facilitate learning for both the PET and CET learners

  • Develop and maintain new/existing teaching curriculum. This includes regular review of existing curriculum and making recommendations on areas of improvement that would enhance students’ learning, performance, and employability.

  • Keep abreast of current trends and developments in technologies and emerging trends

  • Handle administrative work relating to teaching.

  • Supervise and mentor students in competitions and consultancy projects

  • Support student learning through consultation and mentorship

  • Identify and establish new collaboration opportunities with industry partners for curriculum collaboration, CET programme initiatives, and consultancy projects

  • Work on industry or consultancy projects

  • Organise and lead overseas study trips, immersion programs, and student exchange initiatives

[What we are looking for]

  • At least 3 years of relevant working experience in software engineering, DevSecOps, terraform, cloud services and/or deployment.

  • Committed to stay updated with industry advancements and integrating new technologies into teaching.

  • Passionate about education and possess strong interest in teaching and mentoring both youths and adult learners.

  • Ability to design engaging curriculum, developing materials and delivering classes.

  • Self-driven, independent and possess readiness to work as a team.

  • Possess wit, innovation, initiative and strong communication skills.

  • Relevant professional certifications will have added advantage, e.g. Kubernetes Application Developer, OpenShift Administrator, AWS Solutions Architect, Kubernetes and Cloud Native Associate.
