Job Purpose


The Legal Assistant will primarily provide support to in-house attorneys on a broad range of legal matters, including, but not limited to, corporate governance, intellectual property, invoicing/budgeting, compliance/litigation, contract management, mergers and acquisitions and day-to-day matter management. This individual will also provide administrative support to select members of the Leadership Team.

This is a hybrid role based out of Northbrook, IL.

Key Accountabilities

• Corporate Governance: Maintain accurate, current minute books; assist in preparation of resolutions and meeting minutes; create, obtain signatures and file requisite state/provincial corporate documentation; manage delegation of powers.
• Intellectual Property: Assist in maintenance of intellectual property portfolio.
• Invoicing/Budgeting: Process invoices; assist in reporting accruals and obtaining budget estimates; set up new vendors.
• Compliance/Litigation: Coordinate responses to subpoenas and requests for information; provide litigation management support; assist in compliance reporting.
• Contract Management: Provide corporate contract support, including, but not limited to, non-disclosure, marketing, distributor and independent contractor agreements and releases; assist with contract template creation.
• Mergers and Acquisitions: Assist with due diligence activities, and provide administrative support for documentation, relating to mergers, acquisitions, dispositions and corporate restructurings.
• Administrative Support: Maintain/manage the master calendar for select members of the Leadership Team; coordinate travel arrangements; reconcile expenses; coordinate in person team meetings and special events, including catering.
• Other duties as assigned from time to time.

Desired Skills and Background

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required.
• 3+ years’ experience working in a legal environment; in-house law department experience preferred.
• Strong organizational, time management, interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills; ability to multi-task and work as part of a team.
• Demonstrated experience collaborating with cross-functional colleagues; experience at a multinational company preferred.
• Experience handling confidential information.
• Strong working knowledge of MS 365, especially PowerPoint and Excel; experience with Concur and SharePoint.
• Experience in a consumer-packaged goods (CPG) environment a plus.
• Experience in implementing and/or utilizing contract management software a plus.

As of the date of this posting, the estimated pay range for this role is $70,000-$78,000 plus eligibility to participate in the annual discretionary bonus plan. The actual pay for the position will be determined by various factors, including but not limited to job-related experience, skills, education, location, and internal equity. This range may be subject to change over time.
