Legal Assistant
We are looking for someone to join our Medical Malpractice/Nursing Home Abuse department. This person should have PI experience. Experience also with liens and closings. Medical background a plus.
Responsibilities:
- Opening files
- Complete and scan forms
- Draft and send letters
- Maintain clients' files
- Request/follow up with consumers for documents solidifying potential consumer law claim(s)
- Contact clients to obtain physical status
- General clerical duties, including mail room work
- Filing and sorting of documents
- Uploading pdf documents to electronic discovery platforms
- Data entry
- Copy/scan documents
- Collect incoming mail floor
- Scan mail into proper files in case management system (ATO)
- Occasional meetings with clients
- Translate for clients when meeting with paralegals/attorneys (Spanish preferred)
- Phone calls, such as speaking with potential clients and clients
- Cover phones for reception, as needed
- Assist in whatever is needed
- Additional duties as assigned
- Legal Assistant experience preferred
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
