Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to join our legal team in Costa Mesa, CA. This full-time position will support the Legal Analyst by handling a variety of administrative and legal tasks. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of legal processes, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced legal environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, proofread, and format legal documents including correspondence, pleadings, contracts, subpoenas, and discovery materials

  • Organize and maintain legal files, both physical and electronic, in accordance with company and legal standards

  • File documents with state and federal courts and other agencies as required

  • Coordinate meetings, depositions, and court appearances; manage legal calendars and deadlines

  • Conduct basic legal research and summarize findings as directed by the Legal Analyst

  • Handle client communications professionally, including scheduling and follow-up

  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information at all times

  • Assist with case preparation, including assembling exhibits, witness lists, and other documentation


Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred

  • Legal Assistant or Paralegal certification is a plus

  • 1–3 years of legal administrative experience preferred

  • Familiarity with California legal procedures and filing systems strongly preferred

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal practice software (e.g., Clio, MyCase, or similar)

  • Strong writing, proofreading, and verbal communication skills

  • Excellent organizational skills with keen attention to detail

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines


Working Conditions:

  • Based in Costa Mesa, CA (on-site, with potential for hybrid work depending on performance and team needs)

  • Occasional overtime may be required
