Legal Assistant
Description
Location: Swansea
Contract: Permanent
Hours: Full-time, 9am – 5pm
Start Date: ASAP
Our work involves disputes about wills, inheritance and
trusts, often referred to as contentious probate. It combines legal research
and careful attention to evidence with sensitive communication with people who
may be dealing with bereavement or difficult family circumstances. You do not
need specialist knowledge of this area to apply: care and a willingness to
learn are what matter.

advice to individuals, families, and businesses since 1898. As a progressive,
full-service law firm, we’re driven by growth and innovation, continuously
expanding our reach to meet the diverse needs of our clients. With nearly 300
dedicated professionals, we’re proud to be recognised as an employer of choice,
with a number of our lawyers recognised in both Legal 500 and Chambers,
reflecting the strength and quality of our expertise. Our ongoing commitment to
excellence and expansion ensures Redkite remains at the forefront of the legal
sector.
What Will You Be Doing?
- Play
a key supporting role in a varied caseload of contentious probate, trust
disputes, inheritance claims and estate-related matters, helping our solicitors
keep cases moving forward.
- Help
our solicitors prepare accurate letters, legal documents, court forms and
research notes, developing your skills as you learn.
- Keep
case information organised and up to date, ensuring our case management system
and digital records reflect each matter’s progress.
- Help
clients feel supported from their first enquiry, handling onboarding and
ongoing communication with sensitivity and professionalism.
- Help
gather evidence, prepare organised sets of documents for court hearings and
support solicitors in monitoring important deadlines.
- Work
with the team to organise your tasks, understand priorities and contribute to
shared team goals.
- Make
excellent client care and compliance part of everything you do, at every stage
of a case.
Requirements
Who We’re Looking For
- An interest in starting a legal career – previous legal work experience is
not essential. We welcome examples of your skills from your studies, part-time
work, volunteering or other responsibilities.
- Confidence with technology – you’re comfortable using Microsoft
Office and willing to learn new systems. You do not need to have used a legal case
management system before.
- An eye for the details – you combine strong organisational skills with clear
communication and a careful, thorough approach.
- A thoughtful approach to priorities – you can organise tasks, communicate when you need
help and ask questions when something is unfamiliar.
- Initiative and a client-first mindset – you’re motivated, proactive and ready to help keep
matters moving.
- A collaborative outlook – you bring a positive, professional attitude and enjoy
working towards shared goals.
Candidates
should be aware that their first day of employment may be based at an
alternative Redkite office within our Pembrokeshire to Gloucestershire network,
for group onboarding. A willingness to travel and spend the day away from your
usual place of work is therefore required.
