Legal & Compliance Counsel Children's Privacy and AI
Tinypal is building an AI-powered product for children and the regulatory landscape is evolving almost as quickly as the technology.
Across the US, 15+ states are developing or enforcing laws affecting children's access to AI products. The UK is advancing its own requirements, while proposed federal legislation could fundamentally change what products like ours are permitted to do.
We're looking for a lawyer who understands this specific intersection: children, AI, privacy and product design.
- Track and interpret emerging child-safety and AI regulations across the US and UK
- Advise on COPPA, the GUARD Act, state AI-companion laws and the UK Children's Code
- Translate legal requirements into clear, practical product guardrails
- Review features, user journeys, consent mechanisms and data practices before launch
- Identify regulatory risks early and recommend workable solutions
- Help us build a compliance framework that can evolve with new legislation
- A lawyer with experience in children's privacy, online safety, AI regulation or consumer technology
- Strong working knowledge of COPPA and the UK Children's Code
- Familiarity with proposed federal legislation and emerging US state AI laws
- Comfortable working closely with founders, product and engineering teams
- Experience advising child-focused digital products, AI companions, conversational AI or edtech platforms would be especially valuable.
