Discussion

Lex Kapital Oy is growing and hiring for two roles in Turku: Legal Counsel / Licensed Legal Counsel (luvan saanut oikeudenkäyntiavustaja) and Legal Assistant / Junior Legal Counsel. Tell us in your application which role you are interested in.

Lex Kapital is a Turku-based law firm advising both companies and private individuals in demanding legal assignments. Our work focuses on disputes and litigation, corporate risk management, contract and company law, and corporate transactions. Over the past year we have established a strong position in the Finnish legal market and shown that a bold, modern way of practising law works. Our next step is to grow deliberately and establish Lex Kapital among the leading modern law firms in Finland.

Legal Counsel / Licensed Legal Counsel

We are looking for a lawyer with hands-on experience and a genuine interest in law, dispute resolution and litigation. You will handle client assignments independently and represent our clients in court. The role covers legal and strategic assessment of disputes, drafting litigation documents, negotiations, advising clients and managing assignments end to end.

What we expect:

  • Master of Laws degree

  • At least two years of relevant work experience

  • Qualification as a licensed legal counsel (luvan saanut oikeudenkäyntiavustaja) or as an advocate (asianajaja)

  • Strong Finnish and fluent English

  • Good interpersonal and negotiation skills

  • Ability to take independent ownership of assignments and drive them forward

We consider it an advantage if you have experience in contract and company law, intellectual property and data protection, Swedish language skills, a commercial mindset, and a positive attitude towards technology and modern tools as part of expert work.

Legal Assistant / Junior Legal Counsel

For the second role we are looking for a lawyer at the start of their career. You may be a recent Master of Laws graduate or a law student in the final stage of your studies. What matters most is that you can commit to full-time work. You will work closely with our more experienced lawyers and get involved in real client assignments from the start.

Your responsibilities:

  • Assisting our lawyers in litigation and other assignments

  • Legal research and background work

  • Preparing litigation and other legal matters

  • Preparing documents and case material

  • Organising and following up on assignments

  • Communicating with clients

This is not a role where you stay in a supporting function. We want to offer you a clear path forward: as your skills develop, you will take on increasingly independent legal work and assignments of your own, and the compensation model follows that growing responsibility. The role is a strong opportunity to build practical expertise in disputes, litigation and business law.

What we expect:

  • Master of Laws degree, or law studies at the final stage

  • Ability to commit to full-time work

  • Strong Finnish and fluent English

  • Initiative and the ability to take things forward independently

  • Accuracy and good written expression

We consider it an advantage if you have an interest in disputes, litigation and business law, Swedish language skills, a commercial mindset, and a willingness to learn to use modern tools.

The kind of people we are looking for

Beyond degrees and previous experience, what matters to us is what you are like as a colleague and how you approach your work. We value genuine team spirit and openness, and at the same time we expect initiative. We also hope you bring a commercial mindset. Law does not happen in a vacuum: our job is to understand the client's situation as a whole and find solutions that are legally sound and workable in practice.

Modern legal practice in real terms

Technology and AI are an integral part of how we work. For us, using AI is not a marketing slogan: it is part of daily work in legal research, handling case material, organising assignments, making our lawyers' work more efficient and making things easier for our clients. The goal is not to replace legal expertise with technology but to give lawyers better tools to focus where their expertise creates the most value: legal assessment, strategy, negotiations and solving client problems. You do not need to be an AI expert; what matters more is the willingness to learn.

Alongside our legal services, our organisation has strong financial and business expertise in areas such as financial administration, accounting services and financing, supported by a broad network of specialists across different fields.

What we offer

You get the chance to help build a growing law firm at an early stage. At Lex Kapital you are not joining a finished organisation to carry out a predefined role; you get to shape what kind of firm we become.

  • Varied assignments with real responsibility

  • Modern tools and a working environment that genuinely uses AI

  • Strong financial and business expertise supporting legal work

  • A real say in how we work and how the firm develops

  • A clear path to grow in your role as Lex Kapital grows

  • A relaxed, open and ambitious working community

Compensation: fixed base salary of EUR 4,000 per month plus a bonus based on personal billing. Both roles are permanent and full-time, with a flexible hybrid working model. Start date as soon as we find the right person.

We review applications as they arrive and will fill the roles as soon as we find the right people, so we recommend applying early.
