About Us

Novee is the AI penetration testing platform built for a world where attackers operate at machine speed. Our AI agents think like real attackers, continuously finding and validating exploitable risk so security teams can fix what matters first.

We raised $51.5M in four months, backed by top investors YL Ventures, Canaan Partners, and Oren Zeev - one of the fastest funding trajectories in offensive security. Our proprietary AI model outperforms frontier LLMs by over 55% on real exploitation benchmarks, and we're just getting started.

We're a global team with offices in Tel Aviv, the US and the UK, founded by offensive security experts. We work with hundreds of global enterprises to help them secure their environments and innovate faster.

We're at the cutting edge of AI and cyber. We move fast, work with the best, and have fun together.

About the Role

We’re looking for Novee’s first Legal Counsel to build and lead our legal function, with ownership across Commercial, Privacy, and AI.

Reporting to the Head of Operations, you’ll work closely with leadership and our US and Israel teams to support enterprise transactions, advise on product-related legal matters, and build the legal infrastructure for our growth.

This is a hands-on role for a commercially minded lawyer with in-house cybersecurity experience who can manage day-to-day legal work while establishing clear processes.

Responsibilities

  • Draft and negotiate commercial agreements, including SaaS agreements, MSAs, DPAs, NDAs, and partner and vendor contracts.
  • Partner with Sales and Finance to move complex B2B enterprise transactions forward.
  • Advise Product, R&D, and Security on privacy, AI, data use, intellectual property, and technology licensing.
  • Build contract templates, negotiation playbooks, approval workflows, and escalation processes.
  • Support the legal aspects of GRC and compliance initiatives, including SOC 2 and ISO 27001, in collaboration with Security.
  • Support corporate governance, employment matters, and internal policies.
  • Manage external legal counsel and coordinate specialist advice as needed.

Requirements

  • J.D. or equivalent law degree, active bar membership in good standing, and authorization to serve as in-house counsel in New York or eligibility for the required registration.
  • 5+ years of relevant legal experience, including substantial commercial experience and hands-on experience in privacy, data protection, and AI-related legal matters.
  • Prior in-house legal experience at a cybersecurity company.
  • Proven experience building legal infrastructure, including templates, processes, and playbooks.
  • Significant experience negotiating complex technology agreements with US B2B enterprise customers.
  • Strong commercial judgment, excellent drafting and negotiation skills, and the ability to provide practical solutions.
  • A hands-on approach, strong ownership, and the ability to manage competing priorities independently in a fast-growing startup.
  • Based in New York City or the immediately surrounding area.
  • Experience as the first or sole legal counsel in a startup is an advantage.

What We Offer

  • The opportunity to build and lead Novee’s legal function.
  • Direct partnership with leadership and meaningful influence on business decisions.
  • Broad ownership in an ambitious cybersecurity startup working at the intersection of AI and offensive security.
  • Competitive compensation and opportunities for professional growth.
