Legal Counsel (Payments - Fintech | 2-7 Years' PQE)
Our client is an international organisation undergoing an exciting phase of growth. They are looking to appoint a commercially minded Legal Counsel to support commercial, corporate and regulatory legal matters across multiple jurisdictions. Prior experience within the fintech industry is essential for this position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft, review and negotiate commercial contracts, including customer, vendor and partnership agreements.
  • Provide practical legal advice to business teams on day-to-day commercial and regulatory matters.
  • Support product launches, market expansion initiatives and strategic partnerships from a legal and regulatory perspective.
  • Advise on payments, financial services and regulatory requirements across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Work closely with Compliance, Risk and business teams to manage legal and regulatory risks.
  • Support corporate governance matters, internal policies and legal documentation.
  • Manage external legal counsel where required.
  • Monitor regulatory developments and provide practical guidance on their impact to the business.

Key Requirements

  • Qualified lawyer with 2-7 years' post-qualification experience (PQE).
  • Experience in fintech, payments, banking, financial services or a leading law firm.
  • Strong commercial contract drafting and negotiation skills.
  • Good understanding of payments and financial services regulations.
  • Exposure to regulatory licensing, product advisory or cross-border legal matters would be advantageous.
  • Commercially minded with strong business partnering skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Able to work independently in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
