Legal Counsel
You will advise on regulatory, compliance, and licensing matters for cross-border payment, Fintech, and Web3 businesses; lead cross-border regulatory strategies; negotiate commercial agreements; support product structuring, market entry, and data privacy; manage disputes and external counsel; and assist with corporate governance and strategic initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Provide legal advice on regulatory matters, compliance frameworks, and licensing regimes
- Lead legal strategies for cross-border regulatory issues
- Monitor regulatory changes
- Draft responses to regulators
- Review, draft, and negotiate commercial agreements
- Support product structuring and market entry strategies
- Advise on cross-border data privacy
- Handle legal disputes and regulatory complaints
- Prepare regulatory submissions
- Manage external counsel
- Support corporate restructuring and fundraising initiatives
- Prepare board minutes and shareholders' resolutions
- Maintain internal policies
Requirements
- Admission to practice law in Hong Kong
- About 5 years of post-qualification experience preferred
- Dual qualification in the PRC or another major jurisdiction preferred
- 3+ years of in-house or top-tier law firm experience in Fintech, cross-border payment services, or financial services
- Experience with Hong Kong MSO regulations and licensing processes
- Familiarity with SVF, VASP, or Web3 frameworks
- Commercial contract drafting and structuring experience
- English and Chinese language proficiency, including Mandarin and Cantonese
